C'è un posto che ci appartiene?
Un cuore che ci reclama?
Potremmo passare tutta la vita cercando e cercando... questa vita e molte altre a venire.
Poi un giorno, alla velocità alla quale corre tutto ciò che ci circonda , decidiamo di fermarci, guardarci intorno e decidere di andare la, dove sappiamo essere quel cuore, perché tutti sappiamo che la casa è dove risiede il nostro cuore.
È così.
Qui, in Cina e in Europa.
Americana lei e svizzero lui.
Un luogo comune dove , pur senza conoscersi , avevano scelto: Lanzarote , la piccola isola vulcanica dell’arcipelago delle Isole Canarie.
Entrambi biologi. Un seminario negli Stati Uniti li fece conoscere e scoprirono che ciò che li univa non era solo la passione per piante ed insetti.
Sarah ha dovuto lasciare la sua famiglia, super unita, per stare con l' uomo che aveva cercato per tutta la vita: un uomo con una cultura totalmente diversa, che anni prima aveva deciso di fare un percorso diverso da suo padre. Una decisione "semplice" che se non fosse stata presa, forse oggi non sarebbero insieme.
Niente succede per caso.
Tutto ha una ragione e quel percorso è scritto nelle stelle... troppo spesso le nostre paure ci sopraffanno e decidiamo di non alzare lo sguardo e leggere tutto ciò che gli dei hanno preparato per noi.
Così, dopo diversi anni di viaggi, ore passate negli aeroporti, gli incontri, gli sguardi e gli abbracci decisero di pronunciare il fatidico “SI” nel posto che entrambi amavano e che sarebbe stato il finale perfetto per accompagnare l’unione di questa coppia.
Un matrimonio vissuto con le loro famiglie, gli amici, tutti insieme per assistere e presenziare a questa meravigliosa unione. Un momento molto emozionante, con lacrime e divertimento. Allegro, felice, vibrante. Un celebrazione difficilmente definibile, con rituali che includevano tradizioni di diversi paesi, balli e danze tipiche della Spagna, tante risate ed abbracci.
In questo breve riassunto fotografico vedrete la splendida isola che è Lanzarote, isola vulcanica, con paesaggi che sembrano di un altro pianeta, vigneti che si fanno strada su un terreno che sembra voler rifiutare la natura, lo spazio scelto per la ceremonia che è Jameos del Agua , la bellissima grotta naturale formata dopo l'ultima eruzione del vulcano .
Potrete anche vedere la famiglia di questa coppia, i loro amici, i genitori di entrambi e me, testimone oculare di tutto questo e voglio condividerlo con voi.
Davvero grazie mille a questa coppia per aver avuto fiducia nel mio lavoro e nel mio modo di “guardare le cose”, a ciascuno degli ospiti con cui abbiamo trascorso e condiviso un momento speciale a Lanzarote, in particolare a Gabriel e Valeria.

This is a story of American-girl-meets-Swiss-boy. They had a place in common–without knowing it yet–that would soon bring them together: Lanzarote, the smallest of the 7 autonomous Canary Islands.
These two biologists met at a seminar in the United States where they realized they had more in common than just their passion for living organisms. Sarah had to leave her close, loving family to be with a man she had been looking for her whole life. This man came from a totally different cultural background and had also decided to leave his family to follow a new path a few years earlier.
If it wasn’t for their simple yet life-changing decision, they wouldn’t have crossed each other’s paths and would be still looking for each other. Things happen for a reason. Everything, really. There’s a raison d'être behind every single thing in life and it is written in the universe somewhere. We might not see it sometimes because our fears blindfold us, making it hard for us to appreciate the amazing things the gods prepare for us.
After many years of traveling together, waiting long hours at different airports, and falling for each other with just one look, this couple decided to tie the knot in a place they’ve both been to before. A perfect place to witness their love.
Their friends and family were there to by-stand this wonderful union. Emotions, tears of happiness and a lot of fun made up their wedding. It was a happy, vibrant and joyful evening. A celebration in every sense of the word. It included guests from 14 different nationalities, traditional Spanish dances and a lot of hugs and kisses here and there.
In this wedding recap you’ll get to discover what an amazing place Lanzarote is. This volcanic island features never-before-seen landscapes, vineyards where you can take nature in, the beautiful setting where the ceremony and party took place, and Jameos del Agua, a watering hole crafted out of part of the unique lava tube. You’ll also get to see the family of the newly-weds, their friends, and me, the eye behind the camera that witnessed this magic to then share it with you.
